John Akele

 

John commenced his career in Accounting in 1973 working in a Wollongong accounting practice for 11 years. In 1984 at 28 years of age, John become a Partner in Public Practice in Corrimal and in 2019 merged his practice with Daley.

John obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Wollongong in 1980. He is a Chartered Accountant member of CAANZ since 1983, a CPA member of CPA Australia since 1984, a Registered Tax Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board since 1983 and a Justice of the Peace.

John has a “hands on” approach with his clients and will always go above and beyond to ensure the needs and requirements of his clients are met. His extensive knowledge of accounting and taxation law have allowed him to assist clients in achieving both their personal and professional goals while maintaining a positive and relatable attitude which has seen long term clients become good friends.

In his spare time, John enjoys bike riding with friends, spending time with family, enjoying a good coffee or meal and is an avid Trekkie, dreaming of being the Captain of the Starship Enterprise. John is also an avid motor sports enthusiast, particularly V8 Super Cars and if it wasn’t for his “love” of accounting, he would be pursuing his dream job as a racing car driver.

In addition, John is a great believer in Community Service having been a member of Corrimal Rotary Club for 34 years. He is also currently an active Board member of the Fraternity Club and Catholic Care Wollongong. John believes that challenges make life interesting but overcoming those challenges is what makes life meaningful.
